University of Oxford is seeking a Data Manager to support the STRONG group in the Department of Paediatrics at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. You will build and maintain databases for clinical trials, monitor data quality, and raise queries as needed, liaising with OUH, ONMC and research teams.

The role focuses on neuromuscular and neurodevelopmental studies, with a 1-year fixed term and potential extension subject to external funding. Based primarily at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Qualifications

Department of Paediatrics, Specialised Translational Research Oxford Neuromuscular Group (STRONG), John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Specialised Translational Research Oxford Neuromuscular Group (STRONG) in the Department of Paediatrics as our Data Manager. Working within a trial research team, you will provide support to clinical research studies initiated by the Oxford Neuromuscular Centre or in which the Centre is an active partner.

You will play an important role in supporting the development of clinical trials in Prof. Laurent Servais' research group, STRONG, and will liaise with members of Oxford University Hospitals (OUH), the Department of Paediatrics and the Oxford Neuromuscular Centre (ONMC).

You will be responsible for building and maintaining databases for national and international clinical trials, natural history studies and rehabilitation research studies. These studies include children and young adults with a variety of neuromuscular, neurodevelopmental and neurological conditions, including DMD, SMA, nemaline myopathy, Angelman syndrome and autism, as well as other conditions. You will develop databases to suit researcher and trial needs, monitor data and raise queries when needed, and maintain databases and associated documentation. The role will be primarily based at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

You will be working in a growing department within the Medical Sciences Division. The Department of Paediatrics is a world leader in child health research and hosts internationally renowned research programmes in drug development, gastroenterology, haematology, HIV, immunology, neuroimaging, neuromuscular diseases and vaccinology.

This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract initially for 1 year, with the possibility to extend provided further external funding is available.

About you

To apply for this role, you must hold a degree in computer science, sciences, statistics or a related field, or have equivalent experience in clinical trial data management. You must have proven experience in handling data management for clinical trials, including CRF and database design, validation, management and data cleaning. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good organisation and time management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

It is desirable that you have proficiency in EDC systems such as REDCap, with knowledge of database design and management, as well as knowledge of neuromuscular diseases and natural history trials.

Salary (£) : 35,681- 41,636 with a discretionary range to £45,212 per annum (pro-rata)
