Overview
The Data Manager will be accountable for defining and executing the global data strategy for Products Trading & Supply, ensuring data is a competitive advantage in decision-making, compliance, and performance management. The Data Manager will oversee a team of around 10 specialists, driving delivery of consistent, high-quality data and analytics capabilities across regions, with Qlik and standardized reporting (including global P&L reports) as core enablers.
Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and continually refine the global data strategy for Products Trading & Supply, ensuring it aligns with enterprise digital transformation goals and PDE (Products Data Exchange) platform evolution.
- Translate strategic objectives into tangible data initiatives, frameworks, and standards that drive both immediate business outcomes and long-term capability building.
- Act as the custodian of data quality, governance, and integration across multiple platforms and functions.
- Lead the data design and integration stream within Project Chloe, ensuring all data elements required for the new ETRM platform are clearly defined, governed, and embedded.
- Partner with program leads, IT, and functional stakeholders to ensure smooth migration, integration, and adoption of data processes into Chloe.
- Balance BAU and transformation demands, ensuring business-critical reporting continues seamlessly while enabling new digital capabilities.
- Oversee operational and BAU data requests, ensuring efficient, timely, and reliable delivery.
- Drive harmonization of BAU data models with the Chloe transformation design to avoid duplication and ensure consistency.
- Maintain strong linkage with BIAM to ensure compliance, governance, and controls in the reporting space.
- Lead the globalization of Qlik, driving adoption of consistent dashboards, self-service reporting, and enterprise visualization standards.
- Oversee the design and delivery of regular global P&L and management reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and trust in reported data.
- Partner with Finance, Risk, and Commercial teams to evolve analytics beyond reporting into predictive and scenario-based insights.
- Build and lead a team of ~10 professionals, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Develop capabilities across data engineering, reporting, and analytics to meet both current and future business needs.
- Act as a thought leader, mentoring team members and influencing stakeholders on the value of data-driven decision-making.
Leadership & Team Development
- Proven experience in senior data leadership roles in complex, global organizations, ideally within trading, supply, or energy sectors.
- Deep expertise in data strategy, governance, and architecture, with a track record of delivering transformation at scale.
- Strong understanding of ETRM systems (Endur or equivalent), and demonstrated experience in managing data streams within transformation programs.
- Hands-on knowledge of enterprise data platforms (DEX, PDE, etc.), reporting tools (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau), and financial reporting (especially P&L).
- Demonstrated ability to balance BAU stability with large-scale transformation delivery.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence at VP/GM level.
