Join a leading engineering staffing provider as a Data Manager on a 12-month remote contract. Job description

Data Manager – 12 Months Contract – Remote (UK)

Remote with occasional business trips to the Middle East

Inside IR35

8 Hour Day, 5 days per week

Job Overview
The Data Manager, reporting to the CIO, will lead the data strategy, governance, and analytics functions within the organization. Responsibilities include managing data policies, overseeing analytics initiatives, and ensuring data compliance to support business insights and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support data governance, analytics, and IT strategy development
  • Serve as SME on data-driven decision-making and compliance
  • Collaborate with CIO on data investments and innovation
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity
  • Review data requirements in vendor contracts and risk assessments
  • Develop and implement data strategies aligned with business goals
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards
  • Manage data assets' storage, security, and compliance
  • Design and implement data architecture and analytics platforms
  • Ensure data quality, accessibility, and usability across departments
  • Lead initiatives in predictive analytics and AI/ML capabilities
  • Integrate data systems with enterprise applications and cloud solutions
  • Implement data security, privacy, and disaster recovery measures
  • Build relationships with IT, auditors, and compliance teams
  • Mentor and train teams on data management and analytics tools

Requirements for Success
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • Certifications such as CDMP, DAMA, or cloud data certifications preferred
  • Extensive experience in data governance, management, and analytics
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, warehousing, and cloud solutions
  • Experience with big data, AI/ML, and BI platforms
  • Proven compliance, security, and regulatory reporting expertise
  • Leadership skills with team mentoring experience
  • Experience in high-risk industries like oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic and Kurdish is desirable
