Serco are recruiting for a Data Integrity Supervisor to join our AESAS team based at RNAS Yeovilton. This role will assure the integrity of Commando Helicopter Force (CHF) engineering records to ensure and assure accurate life data and exploit Merlin Mk4/4a engineering data to sustain and improve system integrity under the direction of the CHF Continuous Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) Line Management.


Main Accountabilities:

  1. Investigating and interrogating engineering record details against the current and legacy Electronic Asset Management (EAM) system and all available data sources to establish the accuracy of life history back to birth.
  2. Where DI issues are identified in life history:
    1. Report issue to HQ EDS.
    2. Compile and submit Penalty Life Application to the Merlin Delivery Team (Me DT).
    3. On receipt, apply the Me DT Penalty Life Application.
  3. Investigating and interrogating engineering records for the accuracy of:
    1. Modification and Technical Instruction (TI) history.
    2. Configuration management.
    3. Me DT-granted concessions.
  4. Conducting process verification audits (PVAs) on the electronic recording actions for Me DT issued Special Instruction (Technical) (SI(T).
  5. Ensuring correct electronic recording action for Special Instructions (Technical) (SI(T)) compliance by CHF units.
  6. Liaising between CHF Squadrons, HQ and Merlin DT for all DI matters identified above.
  7. Conduct trending of the above DI and DE activity for the CAMO Technical Data Exploitation (TDE).
  8. In consultation with EDS, Squadron Engineering Management Teams and CAMO, raise Defence Aviation Safety Occurrence Reports (DASORs), Quality Occurrence Reports (QORs), MF760 Narrative Fault Reports, MF765 Unsatisfactory Feature Reports should any airworthiness or DI issues be identified during CAMO DI and DE activity.
  9. Provide DI solutions and recovery advice for Merlin platform DI issues and draft, staff and/or validate policy and procedures.
  10. Maintain databases, email and MODNET files, ensuring all filing and archiving of DI/Airworthiness documentation meets current retention regulations and policy.
  11. Provide a Merlin Point of Contact function to provide DI/DE, custodian, and policy advice to squadron/unit Air Engineering Officer’s Writer (AEOW).
  12. Deliver ad-hoc Merlin-specific AEOW face-to-face DI/custodian training as directed by CHF.
  13. Provide a Quality Assurance function for all EDS output.
  14. When requested, support the RNAS Yeovilton Quality Systems Manager/CAMO Quality System Coordinator in the auditing of squadron/unit AEOWs or Boundary Cells.
  15. Keep in date for any continuation training and competency checks required by current regulations, mid-level policy, CAME requirements and Station policy.
  16. Where required by Customer Regulations and Procedures employees are authorised to carry out contracted tasks.
  17. Ensuring best practice and assurance of regulatory compliance.

What you’ll need to do the role:

  1. Must have 8 years’ experience in military/industry airworthiness environment equivalent.
  2. Qualified to conduct Quality Assurance self-audits.
  3. Suitably qualified to be able to be authorised to MAM-P Authority Level E.
  4. Completed a GOLDesp Supervisor and Aircraft Custodian levels as a minimum.
  5. Completed a Maintenance Human Factors Course.
  6. An understanding and proven experience of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance iaw Regulatory and Legislative requirements (MAA and MAOS) including the CAMO.
  7. A good capability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining operational outputs.
