Job description

About Us

At Assembly, our mission is to find the change that fuels growth. We apply this principle to the work we do with our clients and to how we engage with our people. We’re a modern global agency bringing together media, data, technology and talent to make brands perform.

Our business is purpose driven. In March 2022, we were named Ad Age’s first ever Purpose-Led Agency of the Year, recognised for our mission to leave the world better than we found it. This year we became B Corp certified, the result of a two-year journey. We’re proud to have created a culture where diversity of thought, experience, and background are valued, within an environment that fosters continuous learning, adaptability, and a shared passion for meaningful impact.

When you join Assembly, you become part of an award-winning global community of digitally led experts, home to 1,500 talented people across 25 offices globally. Together we create unique data, technology and media solutions that enable faster and smarter problem solving within an inspired, collaborative workplace.

Assembly is poised for its next chapter of growth. We’re a meritocratic, high-performance business with a progressive outlook and a growth mindset in all that we do. To realise our potential we need some new skills and thinking.

The core DNA of Assembly lies in digital performance marketing. New and existing clients are asking us to extend this expertise across all media, connecting traditional channels with digital methods of execution, measurement and automation. We were born the right way to do this – we’re building out from a leading digital and technology capability and adding the rest, rather than trying to reverse engineer a legacy business into a more modern version of itself.

At Assembly we ask our people to embody three core values:

Show Up: actively contribute to a space of personal and collective growth

Make Change: embrace obstacles as opportunities, taking intentional steps to drive positive change

Win Well: approach success with integrity, responsibility, and a commitment to collaboration, understanding that the journey is as important as the destination

We look forward to meeting you and to discussing how we can grow together.

Overview

We’re looking for someone to join the strategy team in a first of its kind role, as a data and insight Account Director. If you have a passion for getting stuck into data to find new patterns and unlock insight this role is for you.

The primary focus of the role is working within one of our Assemblies - a cluster of clients where you will have the opportunity to uncover insights based on client owned data and 3rd party sources to guide data strategies, measurement, business & media strategies.

The role will also involve pitching, creative thinking as technical knowledge, and you will help transform how we use our data to tell powerful stories. This role is ideal for someone who wants to come and build the future of what strategy is within media!

This role sits within our insight and connections team which is responsible for all the strategic output, and data driven expertise across all clients across EMEA. You will be working with a team of 10+ specialists from a background of diverse skillsets to support the delivery of strategic intelligence to our clients from the data available from their industry and digital marketing campaigns.

Internally you will oversee the integration of a client’s technology stack into our own systems and processes, working alongside activation and client teams to ensure this data is being correctly utilised across analysis, forecasting, insight and planning.

Responsibilities
  • Write good quality SQL code to clean and prepare data for insight and analysis.
  • Work closely with our Data Solutions (Engineers) to ingest and model data, collecting requirements from across the user base and converting them into data requirements to help solve client challenges through data.
  • Maintain and grow knowledge of media data sources, using this knowledge to source data, and advise other data consumers and AdOps on best practices
  • Develop strong relationships with our clients to understand their needs, objectives and pain points, and help them make data-driven business decisions
  • Brief and manage workflows with our global delivery team
  • Work together with the Insights & Data Business Director and Head of Insights & Connection in building new ways of working, and MVP products that can be rolled out across the agency.
  • Present analysis to client stakeholders
  • Act as point of escalation to solve reporting issues
  • Upskill junior members of the team to unearth better and more impactful insight.
  • Carry out research into broader industry trends and competitor analysis to uncover key insights that could drive performance growth
  • Contribute to training sessions to multiple client stakeholders and the wider Assembly business
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate junior direct reports to encourage their professional development while providing hands-on, daily supervision and guidance
Required Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of common marketing analytics tools (i.e., Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics)
  • Experience in the marketing industry with an understanding of channel-based activation (PPC, SEO, Display / Programmatic, Social, etc.)
  • Understanding of marketing effectiveness principles
  • Experience telling simple stories with complex data
  • Experience within a BI or Strategy role or a role utilising strong analytical and technical skills
  • Good understanding of Data Visualisation and UX design concepts
  • Strong storytelling via PowerPoint using data & insights
  • Experience analysing and understanding business insights with the ability to develop and present clear and insightful reports to stakeholders
  • Experience with data visualisation and dashboarding tools such as Tableau, Datorama & PowerBI
  • Experience using SQL and relational databases
