We are a new business in the Industrial MRO market, looking to increase our share of the market, through a proposition that is focused on the needs of our customers.
The Zoro teams are in London and Leicester. Leicester is the home of the Supplier, Merchandising, Customer and Finance teams, whilst our Development, Marketing and Data Analytics teams are based in the heart of London.

Primary Function:
Analytics is at the core ofdecision making at Zoro UK. As the company grows so do the needs of our internal stakeholders, giving rise to an exciting array of new projects, in particular within the category and supply department. Whether it's identifying gaps in our assortment, improving product visibility or optimising freight apportioning, category analytics is a crucial driver of the success of the business.
We are looking for someone who has a passion and the drive for problem solving, who can implement both tactical and technical business solutions.
The candidate will have ownership for the development of automation tools that will help drive programmatic and scalable solutions to improve the speed and quality of assortment decisions, the focus being on managing and reporting on product performance at scale.

The role will allow you to build upon your knowledge of data science, SQL & Python - for which you’ll receive ample support.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interpret data, analyse results using statistical methods and provide ongoing reports.
- Analyse the performance of Suppliers and Assortments within the Category and Supplier Management team.
- Responsible for ensuring the correct logistics approach for the Zoro SKUs assortment has been optimised via Dropship or Stocked.
- Responsible for delivering the reporting requirements set out by the team and supporting wider reporting requirements set out by the Zoro business.
- Identify Category and Supplier management team efficiencies and develop and optimise tools to support this.
- Develop and implement processes for increased automation through Supplier data feeds.
- Develop reporting to identify, track and optimise fulfilment strategies.
- Develop tools for product data obtainment and quality improvement.
- Act on team requirements to build insightful reporting to drive commercial improvement.
- Automation of tasks within our internal application, coded in Python.
- Act in a Consultancy capacity across the Category and Supplier Management team.
- Any other duties the company deem appropriate in the change of business circumstances.
- Work to the company management system (ZIMS) requirements at all times.
Requirements
Preferred Education & Experience:
- 1-2 year experience in an analytics role.
- Strong degree or equivalent in numeric subjects (sciences, maths, engineering).
- Experience manipulating data sets using tools such as SQL, Python or Excel
- Experience in managing data from multiple sources
- Strong organisational, problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong cross-functional experience and ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic environment.
- Ability to multitask and self-manage projects.
- Ability to quickly ramp up on new projects.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguous, open-ended problems
- Excellent communication skills with ability to easily manage multiple projects effectively while translating business needs to technical requirements.
Work Environment:
- The role will require travel between Zoro locations in London and Leicester.
- The Analytics team is based in London whereas the category team is based in Leicester so the role will require travel to Leicester sites once a month with more frequent introductory travel.
- Collaborates closely with other members of the Zoro team and Grainger companies.
