Segment: Mars Global Services - R&D Solutions

Contract: Permanent

As part of the MGS R&D solutions analytics team, the Lab Data Governance Senior Scientist collaborates with stakeholders from segment and/or MGS R&D solutions Leadership Team to define lab data governance rules and work closely with Digital Technologies to assess the best technical solution.

The job holder has the ability to influence people to adopt sustainable solutions beneficial for MGS R&D. The role requires a self-starter with good project management skills, able to work independently, with strong action orientation and drive for results.

What are we looking for?

• Proven experience (5+ years) in a data governance or data management role.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.
• Understanding of data governance principles, policies, and best practices.
• Functional knowledge of master data domains (lab, vendor, material, customer).

What will be your key responsibilities?

Data Governance

• Collaborate with business leaders, data owners, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and establish data governance policies.
• Work with the Digital Technologies (DT) team to ensure deployment and maintenance of lab data governance rules. Own the data RACI and ensure relevant information is accessible to stakeholders.

Data Roadmap

• Define current and future data needs for digital workflows in collaboration with the analytics and DT teams, including ownership, source, and timelines.

Data Quality

• Establish data quality standards and KPIs.
• Conduct audits to ensure data quality and compliance, driving continuous improvement.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues, collaborating with digital technology and functional experts.
• Align data, metrics, and structures across regions to ensure consistency.
• Provide functional knowledge to solution architects to ensure a single, accessible version of the truth.
• Promote cross-functional engagement in data governance activities.
