Job Description:

Overview

The Banking and International (B&I) Data team has responsibility to deliver UK data quality programme in addition to a broad remit to implement and embed improved data governance and data management practices throughout all clusters. The UK data quality programme, centered on addressing regulator feedback on Citi’s approach to data, has the following objectives: 1) establish a UK entity-focused book of work that delivers significant regulatory, control and commercial benefits including remediation of material data quality issues; 2) strengthen Senior Manager engagement in data quality initiatives, including BCBS 239 and front-to-back working groups; 3) improve engagement with the regulator; 4) establish connection with strategically important programmes; and 5) demonstrate engagement and influence with the global Group Transformation initiative.

We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager/PMO with strong data governance experience to manage the B&I Data programmes including deliverables, issues, risks, budget, and detailed plans. The role will require familiarity with various project management approaches and interaction with senior programme leads and sponsors, products, and functions globally. Experience of running cross-functional data-intensive projects is essential, and interaction with internal compliance/audit functions is highly desirable. Given the scale, complexity, and ambition of Citi’s global data transformation, the EDO team is dynamic, agile, flexible, and responsive to fast-changing needs. This role must be adept at working in this environment, handle ambiguity and complexity well, deliver on multiple responsibilities, and be highly hands-on. Excellent communication skills are required for internal negotiations, often at a senior level.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with other senior managers to create and maintain the high-level roadmap and oversee execution.
  • Collaborate with team members on detailed project plans and timelines, and coordinate sign-off of deliverables.
  • Track projects through their full lifecycle, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and according to standards.
  • Proactively track and escalate RAID items as needed.
  • Manage budget trackers and forecasting for the portfolio.
  • Contribute to best practices and own governance standards within the group, coordinating with central and regional delivery teams.
  • Prepare consolidated materials from project reports for regular stakeholder reviews (Regulators, ExCo, Data Councils).
  • Enable data-driven decisions from project/program reports.
  • Maintain accurate reports and ensure change control adherence.
  • Promote the use of digital automated tools over manual processes and handoffs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Significant banking or financial services experience.
  • Experience managing regulatory-driven projects or workstreams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, energetic, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle complexity, ambiguity, and a fast-changing environment.
  • Extensive hands-on delivery and execution experience.
  • Experience with cross-functional/business delivery, especially large data-intensive programs/projects.
  • Project management and business analysis skills, with the ability to break down complex problems.
  • Effective collaboration with large, diverse teams.
  • Excellent executive communication skills.
  • Experience interacting with regulators and internal compliance/audit functions is highly desirable.

Education:

Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent; Master’s/MBA preferred.

What we’ll provide you:

Joining Citi London offers a business casual workplace with a hybrid model (up to 2 days remote), competitive salary, and benefits such as:

  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Discretionary annual performance bonus.
  • Private Medical & Life Insurance.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Pension Plan.
