About the role:

We are seeking a Data Governance Policy Writer for a 6-month contract engagement with a leading global financial institution focused on enhancing its data governance frameworks as part of a wider digital transformation.

This role involves working closely with stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Data Governance to develop, document, and standardise data policies, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards.

What you'll do:

You will take ownership of the creation and refinement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures to support enterprise-wide initiatives. You will work collaboratively with technical and business teams to translate complex data concepts into clear, actionable policies for both internal and external stakeholders.

Key tasks include:

• Developing and documenting data governance policies and procedures.
• Ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and internal risk standards.
• Facilitating policy review cycles with key stakeholders.
• Supporting the communication and roll-out of policies across the organisation.
• Maintaining an up-to-date policy repository for audit and compliance purposes.

What you'll need:

• Proven experience in data governance or regulatory policy writing within financial services or similar regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK, DCAM).
• Ability to translate technical concepts into clear policy documents for diverse audiences.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and coordination skills.
• Familiarity with data management principles, including data quality, metadata, and data privacy (e.g., GDPR).
• Experience with policy management tools and structured documentation processes.
