Job summary

SR2 REC LTD is seeking an experienced Head of Data Operations & Governance in London for a 6-month hybrid contract. You will lead governance, quality and data ownership initiatives while partnering with senior stakeholders to align data practices with business outcomes.

You will guide a data team, implement ownership models, and work with architects and engineers to improve cataloguing, lineage and observability across critical datasets.

• Strong governance and data quality leadership across datasets.
• Experience implementing data ownership and stewardship models.
• Ability to translate data issues into clear business outcomes.
• Proven track record leading data teams.
• Technical understanding to work with Data Architects and Engineers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
• Change and transformation mindset and ability to bring people on the journey.

Responsibilities

• Establish and embed data ownership and stewardship across critical datasets.
• Develop and implement data quality frameworks, standards and governance processes.
• Lead and develop an existing Data Operations & Governance team.
• Drive improvements across data cataloguing, discovery, lineage and observability.
• Support major transformation programmes and the adoption of AI and automation.
• Work closely with Data Architecture, Engineering, Privacy and senior business stakeholders.
• Translate complex data issues into clear business outcomes and drive organisation-wide engagement.
