Job summary

Nationwide is establishing a data-driven culture across the Society to support our transformation goals. As a Data Governance manager, you will embed best practice in data management and governance across Retail Products.

You will build strong relationships with stakeholders, champion metadata management, data lineage and data quality reporting, and enable better decision-making across our product ranges. We offer hybrid working and flexible approaches to help you perform at your best, with time

Nationwide is establishing a data-driven culture across the Society that will support our business modernisation and transformation goals. We are looking for enthusiastic data professionals capable of embedding good data management practices across Retail Products. As a Data Governance manager, you will be at the forefront of this exciting initiative.

Retail Products look after the bankingand savings of 16 million members and businesscustomers by offeringcompetitive propositionsthat meet core needs,reward loyalty,broaden &deepen relationshipsand ensure thelong-termsustainabilityof the Society. We’re looking to add to our talented and experienced team that support the data and insight needs that underpin much of the decision-making across our product ranges.

The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours.

What you’ll be doing

Working closely with business subject matter experts, you will identify, define and document critical data assets within a central metadata repository, helping to create a clear and consistent understanding of the Society's most important data. You will champion best practice in data management and governance, ensuring that critical data is effectively managed, controlled and maintained in accordance with the Society's Data Governance Policy and wider organisational standards.

A key part of the role involves building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, collaborating with subject matter experts and a growing network of data professionals to promote a data-driven culture and drive improved data outcomes. Drawing on your data management expertise, you will implement and maintain key data management capabilities, including metadata management, data lineage and data quality reporting. Through data profiling and analysis, you will help improve the accuracy, consistency and reliability of data, enabling better decision-making across the organisation.
