The Role:

As a Data Governance Manager, you will ensure compliance with UK GDPR, PECR 2003, and BCBS239. You will lead initiatives to improve data quality, maximize data utility, and foster confidence in data across the organization. This role reports to the Head of Data Governance within BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK, as part of the first line of defense.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assess data quality and conduct root cause analysis for data issues.
2. Identify and implement improvements in data governance practices, contributing to complex projects aligned with data management principles.
3. Represent the data governance team across analytical groups and business areas, providing advice on data infrastructure, integrity, quality, and privacy.
4. Stay updated on GDPR requirements and develop remedial work programs to address ongoing risks.
5. Promote awareness and understanding of data governance to enhance organizational data culture.
6. Serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating with stakeholders to communicate data risks and provide guidance, training, and educational resources.
7. Work effectively under pressure with changing priorities.

Skills & Attributes:

• Extensive knowledge of data architecture and quality management.
• Significant experience in data governance or protection, with strong understanding of UK GDPR, PECR, and BCBS239.
• Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information effectively.
• Strong questioning, listening, and interviewing skills to extract information.
• Proven stakeholder and relationship management skills.
