Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Data Governance Lead in Worcester with hybrid working. You will guide governance as we move from legacy platforms to cloud-based SaaS, safeguarding customer and business data.

You will report to the Head of Data, interact with senior leadership, and drive data quality, ownership, stewardship, and data contracts across value streams. This role offers board exposure and the chance to shape a brand-new position during a major cloud transformation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data governance or data management.
• Strong knowledge of data quality, ownership, metadata and governance principles.
• Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud-based data environments.
• Experience with Unity Catalog is essential.

Data Governance Lead

We're looking for a Data Governance Lead to join our growing data team in a newly created role, reporting directly to the Head of Data.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our transition from legacy platforms to cloud-based solutions and support our move towards a SaaS model. You'll help ensure customer and business data is governed effectively, oversee data governance across new data products, and work closely with technical specialists across the organisation.

The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the board, making it ideal for someone who can combine strong governance principles with excellent stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and enhance data governance frameworks, standards, and policies.
• Support the migration of data from legacy systems to cloud platforms.
• Ensure effective governance of customer data as hosting moves to a SaaS model.
• Oversee data quality, ownership, stewardship, and data contracts across value streams.
• Partner with technical and business teams to drive best practice and compliance.
• Support the governance of both internal and customer-facing data products.
