Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Data Governance Executive to join our Risk Function. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Data Quality Assurance Manager in managing Data Governance enhancements across multiple business lines, analysing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity of the wider Risk Function. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of business operations, risk management processes and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Data Quality Assurance Manager with data collation for dashboards and reports.
  2. Drive activities to improve data governance processes.
  3. Streamline processes within the Risk function.
  4. Develop automation solutions for operational efficiency.
  5. Integrate AI and advanced tools to enhance data governance.
  6. Identify risks and assess controls in data reporting.
  7. Analyse business processes for improvement.
  8. Provide insights and recommendations from data analysis.
  9. Use tools like Excel and SQL for data interrogation.
  10. Manage projects related to Data Governance and Quality.
  11. Develop documentation such as business requirements and user guides.
  12. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for data governance and AI initiatives.
  13. Stay updated with regulatory changes and industry trends.

Experience and skills we are looking for:
  1. Experience in data analysis, process improvement, or a related role.
  2. Strong understanding of business analysis frameworks and methodologies.
  3. Experience with automation tools, AI technologies, and data management systems.
  4. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  5. Experience in the financial services or insurance industry.
  6. Familiarity with data governance and privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, DPA, understanding of BCBS239 would be valuable).
  7. Experience with DAMA aligned Data Quality and Data Governance Principles/Standards.
  8. Experience working with Agile methodologies and principles.
  9. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
