Job summary

Carrington Recruitment Solutions Ltd. is seeking a Data Governance Analyst for a Professional Services client in the City of London. The role is hybrid, requiring three days in the office and two from home.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years in data governance or data analytics, strong Power BI capabilities, and proven senior stakeholder management. This growing function offers clear progression paths and exposure to governance artefacts and data quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years' relevant experience in data governance, business analysis or related role.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, data management, data quality and metadata.
• Experience with governance artefacts such as glossaries, data dictionaries, critical data elements, data ownership matrices.
• Experience documenting business processes and data lineage, including how data is created, transformed, shared and used.
• Strong business analysis and documentation skills, including producing user stories, use cases, functional requirements and reports.
• Power BI experience creating visualisations and reports to support data governance activity.
• Experience identifying and managing data-related issues, ensuring actions are properly tracked, resolved and documented.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with Data Stewards and colleagues across both business and technology functions.
• The ability to support training, communications and guidance and encourage adoption of new data standards and governance processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive, self-motivated and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently when required.

Data Governance Analyst / Data Business Analyst required to work for an exciting Professional Services business based in the City of London. This will be a hybrid role where you will be required to be in the office 3 days per week and the rest from home.

We ideally need someone from a Professional Services background who has a Data Analysis background and has proven Senior Stakeholder Management skills. This is a department that is growing within the firm, so there is lots of opportunity to progress in the future. Read on for more details

Skills Required:

• 2 - 4 years' relevant experience in data governance, business analysis or a closely related role.
• A good understanding of data governance, data management, data quality and metadata principles.
• Practical experience working with governance artefacts such as business data glossaries, data dictionaries, Critical Data Elements, data ownership matrices, systems of record and data quality rules.
• Experience documenting business processes and data lineage, including how data is created, transformed, shared and used.
• Strong business analysis and documentation skills, including producing user stories, use cases, functional requirements and reports.
• Demonstrable Power BI experience, particularly creating visualisations and reports to support data governance activity.
• Experience identifying and managing data-related issues, ensuring actions are properly tracked, resolved and documented.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with Data Stewards and colleagues across both business and technology functions.
• The ability to support training, communications and guidance and encourage adoption of new data standards and governance processes.
