Job summary

Picture More Ltd in London is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to join its Data function and help embed a growing governance framework.

You will work with Data Stewards and stakeholders, develop documentation, use Power BI for reporting, and drive data quality, ownership and governance across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years' experience in data governance, business analysis or a closely related role.
• Strong understanding of data governance, data management, data quality and metadata principles.
• Experience developing or maintaining data governance documentation and artefacts.
• Strong business analysis, requirements gathering and process documentation skills.
• Demonstrable Power BI reporting and visualisation experience.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation and ongoing development of the Data Governance Framework.
• Collaborating with Data Stewards, business stakeholders and tech teams to improve data quality and ownership.
• Developing and maintaining data governance documentation (glossaries, data dictionaries, CDEs, ownership matrices, data quality rules).
• Mapping business processes and data lineage to understand data creation, transformation, sharing and usage.
• Gathering and documenting business requirements, user stories, use cases and functional specs.
• Using Power BI to create reports and visualisations supporting governance initiatives.
• Identifying and helping resolve data quality and governance issues.
• Supporting training and guidance to encourage adoption of governance standards.
• Improving reference data management and cross-system data consistency.

Are you a Data Governance Analyst or Business Analyst looking for an opportunity to help shape how data is managed, understood and used across a global professional services organisation?

Our client, an established international law firm, is looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join its growing Data function. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in embedding a newly established Data Governance Framework, improving data quality and ownership, and working closely with business and technology stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting the implementation and ongoing development of the organisation's Data Governance Framework.
• Working closely with Data Stewards, business stakeholders and technology teams to improve data quality, ownership and understanding.
• Developing and maintaining data governance documentation, including business data glossaries, data dictionaries, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data ownership matrices and data quality rules.
• Mapping business processes and data lineage to understand how data is created, transformed, shared and used.
• Gathering and documenting business requirements, user stories, use cases and functional specifications.
• Using Power BI to create reports and visualisations supporting data governance initiatives.
• Identifying, tracking and helping resolve data quality and governance issues.
• Supporting training, communications and guidance to encourage adoption of data governance standards and processes.
• Helping improve reference data management and the consistency of data across business systems.

What are we looking for?

• Around 2-4 years' experience in data governance, business analysis or a closely related role.
• A good understanding of data governance, data management, data quality and metadata principles.
• Practical experience developing or maintaining data governance documentation and artefacts.
• Strong business analysis, requirements gathering and process documentation skills.
• Demonstrable Power BI reporting and visualisation experience.
• Experience working with stakeholders across business and technology functions.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, collaborative approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked on practical data governance initiatives or have a business analysis background with meaningful exposure to data management and governance.
