Job summary

SII UK is seeking a Data Fabric Engineer to support, develop and optimise a secure, on-premise Embedded Analytics environment in Manchester. The role focuses on Power BI, Dataiku, ETL/ELT, and data integration, with emphasis on performance and user-friendly analytics.

You will provide guidance to technical and business users, deliver dashboards and data models, and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing and supporting Power BI and/or Dataiku solutions.
• Experience in on-premise data and analytics environments.
• Solid understanding of data integration, reporting, ETL and performance optimisation.
• Experience troubleshooting issues and supporting production environments.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical data and reporting solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise Power BI dashboards, reports, data models and DAX measures.
• Build and optimise Dataiku flows, recipes and data-processing activities.
• Develop and support ETL/ELT processes, data integrations and automated data flows.
• Provide technical support across Power BI, Dataiku, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and SQL environments.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement solutions or workarounds.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Support new reports, dashboards, data sources and analytics enhancements from design through to production.
• Coordinate platform upgrades, release activities and integration/non-regression testing.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, automation and user experience.
• Provide technical coaching, knowledge transfer and best-practice guidance to users.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, user guides and knowledge-base content.

• Strong stakeholder communication and technical documentation skills.
