Job Description: Lead Data Engineer

The Lead Data Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining development standards while delivering solutions within time and budget constraints. This position is suited for a highly organized and effective communicator who can engage with stakeholders at all levels. Responsibilities include understanding detailed technical requirements across multiple projects, providing informed technical input into solution designs, and proactively managing involvement within projects while supporting and guiding the development team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop performant, secure ETL solutions on a project-by-project basis, aligned with governance standards.
  2. Mentor developers of varying experience levels, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  3. Lead solutions for complex problems, ensuring high standards through detailed code reviews.
  4. Collaborate with team members at all levels to offer technical expertise and mentorship.
  5. Support the development team in requirement clarification, solution design, sprint planning, code deployment, and resolving blockers.
  6. Provide support for production applications, including defect analysis and fixes, serving as a technical mentor within the team.
Skills and Experience:
  • Proven track record in ETL/ELT/Data Warehouse projects, with hands-on delivery and leadership experience.
  • Experience mentoring Data Engineering teams and leading projects in offshore/onshore environments.
  • Proficiency with ETL tools, especially Informatica (PowerCenter, BDM, IDMC), and cloud technologies like AWS (e.g., AWS Glue).
  • Experience with database technologies (Postgres, Redshift, Oracle, Snowflake) and scripting languages such as Python and PySpark.
  • Ability to translate technical and business information into practical solutions and challenge existing proposals constructively.
