Job summary

Correla is seeking a Data Engineer Manager to lead a SaaS data team in the United Kingdom. The role centers on delivering reliable data platforms, pipelines and reporting services while balancing business priorities and technical quality.

You will coach and develop a high-performing team, promote governance, and partner with Product, Engineering and Operations to shape the data strategy for a net-zero aligned future.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading data engineering, reporting or technical teams and coaching emerging leaders.
  • Proven delivery of data platforms, pipelines, semantic models and reporting services.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architectures, modelling approaches and reporting technologies.
  • Ability to translate organisational needs into effective data and reporting solutions.
  • Knowledge of data governance, lineage, security and compliance principles.
  • Experience designing and operating scalable, well-governed data platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the data engineering team with coaching, mentoring and performance management.
  • Ensure delivery and operation of data platforms, pipelines, models and reporting services.
  • Promote high standards across data engineering, governance, security and reliability.
  • Make strong architectural decisions and guide technical directions.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations and stakeholders to align data services with business goals.

Correla are looking for a Data Engineer Manager to join our SaaS team.

Salary: circa £90,000 (advertised salary achievable for a candidate fulfilling all role criteria)

About the Role:
  • Team Leadership & People Development: Build and lead high-performing Data Engineering team through coaching, mentoring and performance management. Create a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement while developing future technical and people leaders.
  • Delivery & Execution: Ensure the successful delivery and operation of data platforms, pipelines, models and reporting services, balancing business priorities, technical quality and operational reliability.
  • Data Engineering Excellence: Promote high standards across data engineering, data platform development, testing, governance, security and operational support, ensuring data solutions are reliable, maintainable, scalable and trusted.
  • Technical Leadership: Create an environment where strong technical decisions can be made by empowering data engineers and technical specialists, supporting architectural direction and ensuring solutions remain sustainable, secure and aligned with future business needs..
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations and business stakeholders to align data platforms, reporting capabilities and information services with organizational priorities and customer needs.
  • Data Governance and Operational Ownership: Ensure the team takes ownership of the platforms, pipelines and reporting services they build and support, maintaining high standards of data quality, governance, reliability and performance.
About You
  • People Leadership: Experience building, leading and developing high-performing data engineering, reporting or technical teams. Ability to coach technical specialists and emerging leaders while fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Data Platform Delivery: Strong track record of delivering data platforms, pipelines, semantic models and reporting services that balance business priorities, technical quality and operational requirements.
  • Technical Capability: Strong understanding of modern data architectures, engineering practices, modelling approaches and reporting technologies. Able to guide technical decisions without becoming the primary contributor.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to build strong relationships across engineering, operational and business functions, translating organisational needs into effective data and reporting solutions
  • Data Governance & Quality: understanding data governance, quality management, lineage, security and compliance principles, ensuring trusted and well-managed data Assets.
  • Data Platform Expertise: Experience designing, building and operating data platforms, semantic models and data services that provide trusted, scalable and well-governed data across the organisation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated ability to improve organisational effectiveness through process, tooling, automation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to balance short-term delivery priorities with long-term platform and data capability investment, aligning team objectives with wider business goals and organisational strategy.
