Job summary

THG is seeking an Engineering Lead to own the data engineering architecture across Customer, Commercial and Operations. You will guide the design of scalable data pipelines on BigQuery and GCP, mentor a team of six engineers, and partner with Ingenuity to deliver reliable domain datasets.

You will champion AI‑enabled data engineering, define standards, and drive data quality across THG’s analytics platforms. The role is based at our ICON Manchester office with a global scope.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, expert-level experience with BigQuery and GCP.
• Strong Python skills used daily for pipeline development and automation.
• Experience across at least two of the three core data domains: Customer, Commercial and Operations.
• Track record of evolving data architecture and data modelling.

Responsibilities

• Own the data engineering architecture for THG — ingested, transformed, stored and made available across domains.
• Define standards and patterns to enable reliable cross-domain joins.
• Lead evolution of the BigQuery/GCP platform, migrations and scalable pipelines.
• Set engineering standards: version control, testing, documentation and code review practices.
• Build structured, reliable domain datasets and converge towards a single source of truth.
