Job summary

NewDay Technology is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to guide a pod of Data Engineers in building reliable, scalable data products and platforms that help the company make better decisions from its data. The role combines hands-on engineering work with people leadership to uphold our engineering standards and deliver high-quality data solutions.

You will shape technical direction across data modelling, warehousing, ETL/ELT, and scalable pipelines, while remaining hands-on designing complex data

Qualifications

• Hands-on DBT experience to design, build and improve data transformations.
• Proficient Python and SQL for solving complex data problems at scale.
• Ability to guide data modelling, ETL/ELT, warehousing and pipelines.
• Experience in leading and developing Data Engineers.
• Interest in AI and automation to improve quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead a pod of Data Engineers and foster collaboration and high-quality delivery.
• Shape technical direction for data, including modelling and warehousing.
• Design and develop complex data pipelines using mbt, Python, SQL and cloud tech.
• Improve testing, data quality, observability and automation.
• Collaborate with business to translate requirements into data solutions and explore AI opportunities.
