Job description

Job Title: Contract Data Engineering Consultant (DBT & Snowflake Specialist)
Location: Hybrid (at least 1 day per week in Bristol)
Contract Length: 6 Months
Rate: Up to £400 per day (Outside IR35)

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Consultant with deep expertise in DBT (Data Build Tool) and Snowflake to join a fast-moving data team on a 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-impact project, leveraging your skills in data modelling, data analysis, and Snowflake to drive actionable insights for a dynamic organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and optimise DBT models to transform raw data into valuable analytics-ready datasets.
  2. Utilise your in-depth knowledge of DBT Core to upskill, train, and mentor the team.
  3. Implement scalable data modelling solutions to support business intelligence and analytical needs.
  4. Collaborate closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless data workflows.
  5. Work with Snowflake to manage and optimise cloud-based data warehouse solutions.
  6. Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and performance tuning.
  7. Provide documentation and best practices to support ongoing data initiatives.
  8. Proven experience as an Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer with a strong focus on DBT.
  9. Expertise in data modelling, SQL, and transforming raw data into meaningful insights.
  10. Hands-on experience with Snowflake and cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
  11. Strong analytical skills with an ability to work with complex datasets.
  12. Knowledge of best practices in data engineering, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
  13. Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results in a contracting environment.
