  1. Data Collection and Analysis: Produce accurate reports by collecting data from various sources and inputting it into standard formats. Identify and monitor Data & BI risks and report any business impact with solutions to the Data Engineering Lead(s).
  2. Application Development: Contribute to developing existing and new SAS-based applications, analyzing and identifying areas for improvement to meet customer requirements.
  3. Product/Service Development: Solve known problems and deliver outcomes using existing systems.
  4. Technical Developments Recommendation: Work with the Data & BI team to develop and maintain a comprehensive data warehouse using SAS/SQL, ensuring data is clearly defined and consistently maintained.
  5. Data Governance: Develop and maintain data dictionaries, supporting aspects of data quality, security, management, architecture, availability, and performance.
  6. Troubleshooting and Debugging: Provide fault isolation and resolution promptly.
  7. Project Management: Process Data & BI requests efficiently, ensuring data accuracy and audits, and liaising with stakeholders to improve business performance.

What we need you to have

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data with good investigative skills and make recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with non-technical colleagues.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Proven organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships.
  • A 'Can Do' attitude and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

And if you have these, even better

  • Some knowledge of SQL / SAS, but not essential.
  • Understanding of established procedures or systems.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Technical skills learning evidence.
  • Insurance or financial services experience beneficial.
  • Experience with SAS VIYA, Jira, Fabric, GitHub is a plus.
  • STEM degree is preferred but not essential.

We don't expect you to tick every box. If you meet most of the criteria, consider exploring a career with us.

  • Retirement benefits through our pension scheme.
  • Virtual GP Service for you and family.
  • Performance-related bonus.
  • Minimum of 7.2 weeks holiday, with options to buy more.
  • Colleague Clubcard with discounts up to 15%.
