Job summary

CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is seeking a DV Cleared Data Engineer to support a long-term defence programme in the West Midlands with hybrid working.

You will build and maintain Azure data pipelines (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse), enable operational reporting, KPIs and data governance, collaborating with service architects and delivery teams.

This contract role offers up to £600 per day Inside IR35, initially until 31 March 2027 with extensions anticipated.

Qualifications

• Active DV security clearance is essential.
• Proven Data Engineer experience in enterprise/government environments.
• Experience with Azure data services (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse).
• Strong SQL skills and data pipeline development experience.
• Experience with Python or PySpark.
• Understanding of enterprise data integration, reporting and governance.
• Desirable: MOD/Defence experience, ITIL/ITSM platforms, CMDB data, Power BI.

DV Cleared Data Engineer

Location: West Midlands - Hybrid working

Rate: Up to £600 per day Inside IR35

Contract: Until 31 March 2027, with extensions expected

The Role

We are seeking a DV Cleared Data Engineer to support a long-term defence programme.

You will develop and maintain data solutions within Azure, supporting enterprise service integration, operational reporting, service performance monitoring and data-driven decision-making. Working alongside service architects, service management teams and technical stakeholders, you will help ensure data is accurate, secure and aligned with enterprise service delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer in an enterprise or government environment.
• Experience with Azure data services, such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks or Synapse.
