Job summary

BRUSH Group is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Group IT Data & AI team. You will build, maintain and optimise data pipelines and platforms that provide governed, trusted data across BRUSH Group using Microsoft Fabric.

The role combines hands-on data engineering with a focus on security, quality, documentation and continuous improvement. You will connect source systems, transform data via the medallion architecture and deliver data products for BI, ML and AI use cases, while collaborating

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent professional experience in data engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in modern data engineering and cloud platforms.
• Microsoft Fabric-related certifications are desirable (e.g., Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
• Strong SQL skills across complex datasets, with query optimization and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components (Data Factory pipelines, Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, notebooks).
• Ability to design scalable data models using medallion architecture and reusable data-product patterns.
• Experience in cloud-based lakehouse/data warehouse environments; Microsoft Fabric preferred.
• Experience implementing data quality, metadata, lineage, and RBAC; translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and maintain reliable data pipelines ingesting data from ERP, operational and third-party systems.
• Develop and maintain the Microsoft Fabric data platform using lakehouse/warehouse/pipeline capabilities.
• Ensure data is accurate, complete and timely through governance and validation processes.
• Apply naming, metadata, retention and classification standards across the platform.
• Translate business requirements into scalable data products and technical designs.
• Provide trusted Gold-layer datasets for BI, ML and AI use cases.
• Identify improvements to engineering standards, automation, deployment practices and platform efficiency.
• Evaluate new Microsoft Fabric capabilities and advise on adoption where value is shown.
