Summary

We seek a proactive Data Engineer with Microsoft Fabric experience to develop and optimise data pipelines supporting analytics and reporting initiatives. This role aligns with SFIA Level 3 (Apply), requiring application of knowledge, discretion, and workload management within defined responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric technologies (e.g., Data Factory, OneLake, Synapse, Power BI).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Build and manage data models and lakehouses in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Monitor and optimise data performance and reliability.
  • Implement best practices including CI/CD, testing, and documentation.
  • Support data analytics and reporting efforts with cross-functional teams.
  • Stay updated on Microsoft Fabric and Azure ecosystem features and best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Data Engineer with Microsoft Fabric or related Azure services.
  • Knowledge of PySpark in notebooks for data analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modelling.
  • Experience with ELT/ETL tools within Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Understanding of data lake and lakehouse architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI for data visualisation.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices for data pipelines.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication with stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds.
