Data Engineer Manager

The Data Engineering Manager role is responsible for leading the data engineering team within a leading housing association. This position combines strategic leadership with technical expertise to develop and oversee the organisation’s data capabilities, ensuring best practices and effective governance frameworks are in place.

Role Overview

The Data Engineering Manager will oversee a growing team of Data Engineers, shaping its structure, capability, and future direction. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to promote data as a strategic asset, improving data quality, reliability, and accessibility. Success involves developing a strategic roadmap, establishing governance standards, and balancing operational delivery with long-term planning. The position entails approximately 20-30% hands-on work, with the remainder focused on leadership, strategy, and stakeholder engagement. The role operates within an Azure environment, with technologies including Databricks and Python.

  • Based on-site in Bradford with hybrid working arrangements
