The Role

Are you looking for a cutting-edge role in the renewables sector, where you will help deliver our purpose of building a bright future? We are a fast-growing global renewable energy producer looking for a Cloud Data Engineer to help us in the implementation and evolution of Sonnedix's data platform.

Reporting to the Engineering Lead - Data Integration, the Data Engineer will configure the platform, perform initial data integrations, and implement workflows and models for key use cases. The person in this role will enjoy working closely with various internal teams and taking ownership of ensuring value is created using data analytics in cross-functional projects. The Data Engineer will create new pipelines, provide operational support including issues investigation and remediation, train the wider data team on the platform use, and maintain / enhance an optimal cloud architecture for the company.

Desirable skills

1. Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python / PySpark / Spark SQL / Java with the ability to operate in a Linux environment
2. Capable of implementing data ingestion routines both real time and batch using best practices in data modelling, ETL/ELT processes by leveraging cloud technologies (e.g. Lambda, S3, EKS, IAM, Snowflake)
3. Prior experience with modern cloud development environments (e.g. Docker, Terraform, Github actions, data quality frameworks)
4. Ability to collaborate effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals
5. Comfortable delivering goals in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives

This is a hybrid role (in our London office and home-based) with the potential for some travel to other country locations.
