Job summary

DUAL is a specialist underwriting group, part of Howden, operating globally in 57 countries. We seek a Senior Data Engineer to lead the evolution of the Data Lakehouse and related data platforms for Personal Lines, collaborating with underwriting, risk and reporting teams.

The role demands 5+ years in data engineering, expertise with Azure data services, Python, SQL, and data modelling. You will drive governance, CI/CD and data quality across a scalable analytics landscape.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in data engineering and building data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Engineer DUAL Personal Lines' data platforms, notably the Data Lakehouse, to enhance underwriting analytics.
• Provide technical expertise in data engineering, analysis, orchestrations and enrichment.
• Build data solutions while managing new requests and incidents.
• Develop, test and deploy data products with governance, change control and data quality.
• Collaborate with data team members and system owners to follow data standards.
• Assess impact of changes on data models to maintain operational, analytical and reporting integrity.
• Support underwriting analytics and reporting teams with accurate data.
• Contribute to delivery of API interfaces, data models, and data sharing tools.
• Work within Agile/DevOps to incrementally deliver value.
