Data Engineer - Global Alternative Investment Fund Manager

Summary:
This is a leading multi-asset fund focused on global macro asset classes to generate uncorrelated returns. Technology is highly valued, and they are looking to expand the team with a skilled Data Engineer in London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining the data platform, ensuring data availability, reliability, and integrity. This role offers the opportunity to build strong relationships with the front office and technology teams.

You will gain exposure to various data types and have opportunities to master different practices, tools, and skills. Use your knowledge to solve real-world data challenges across multiple asset classes.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a data specialist role, with a passion for working with data and supporting stakeholders
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Apache Spark, with demonstrable experience in a production environment
  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish
  • Minimum 2.1 degree in Computer Science or a related field from a Russell Group university (or equivalent)

Desirable:

  • Experience with Databricks and Microsoft Azure
  • Financial Services experience is a plus but not essential
