Job summary

Calyptus is seeking a mid-senior Data Engineer to design and own the data architecture that powers our consumer platform’s personalization. You'll work closely with our AI Engineer to ensure data is clean, fast, and well-structured.

This is an individual contributor, hands-on role in a small in-office team, focused on pragmatic architectural decisions in a fast-moving, pre-Series B environment. You’ll build reliable data pipelines and model data for ML systems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data architecture design and implementation.
• Experience supporting ML or recommendation systems with data.
• Strong individual contributor who remains hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and own the data architecture behind a consumer platform.
• Build reliable, performant pipelines feeding production ML and personalization systems.
• Model data so it's genuinely usable by algorithms and people.
• Work hand-in-hand with the AI Engineer to shape signals correctly.
• Make pragmatic architecture decisions in a fast-moving, pre-Series B environment.
