Job summary

IVC Evidensia is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines on the Databricks platform, interfacing with source systems and the group data warehouse. You will drive data modelling and ELT processes while collaborating with business SMEs and the Data Architect.

The role emphasises DevOps culture, secure development, and an international mindset within a growing veterinary care group. Flexible remote-first working is supported.

Qualifications

• Databricks - hands‑on experience building and managing workloads on the Databricks platform, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Declarative Automation Bundles.
• PySpark - proficiency in writing and optimising PySpark code for data transformation and processing.
• Azure - solid experience within the Azure ecosystem, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure DevOps.
• Azure SQL Server - experience with Azure SQL Server as the foundation of the data warehouse across SQL Server and Databricks.
• ELT & pipeline development - designing and maintaining pipelines using REST APIs, JSON, and ELT protocols.
• Data modelling - comfortable with relational and non‑relational data technologies and modelling principles.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of the technologies underpinning our data strategy, focusing on the Databricks platform.
• Build, optimise, and maintain data pipelines from source systems to the group data platform.
• Collaborate with Business SMEs to translate requirements into concrete deliverables.
• Work with the Data Architect to shape the overarching data management strategy.
