Job summary

Police Scotland in Scotland seeks a data integration specialist within the Chief Data Office to design, develop, maintain, and deploy data flows connecting operational systems to enable analytics and decision-support for Police Scotland and the SPA.

You will investigate datasets, build robust integration processes (ETL, streaming, CDC, API), and participate in an on-call rota as needed, with a competitive salary and strong benefits including 28 days leave and the LGPS.

Qualifications

• Use a variety of techniques to design, develop, maintain and deploy integrations and data flows that connect operational systems, enabling data for analytics and BI users across Police Scotland and the SPA.
• Provide technical expertise in designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable integration processes including ETL, streaming, CDC and API connections.
• Investigate and appraise new datasets and data sources to enhance analytical capabilities and inform evolving business needs.
• May be required to participate in a relevant out-of-hours/on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Use a variety of techniques to design, develop, maintain and deploy integrations and data flows that connect operational systems, enabling the provision of data for analytics and business intelligence systems and users across Police Scotland and the SPA
• Provide technical expertise in the design, build, and maintenance of robust, scalable integration processes, including ETL, streaming, change data capture, and API connections, automating data workflows and ensuring the timely provision of accurate data
• Investigating and appraise new datasets and data sources that enhance analytical capabilities and inform evolving business needs, including publicly available data, internal sources, and data from partners
• May be required to participate in a relevant out-of-hours/on-call rota
