Job summary

Vertus Partners in London is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Investment Technology team. You will build data pipelines powering research, analytics and trading workflows, and own data from onboarding to production delivery.

You will work with large datasets, modern tech, and collaborate with researchers and traders to translate requirements into reliable data solutions. The role offers visibility, impact on investment outcomes, and scope to shape data architecture.

Qualifications

• Proficient Python development for data-focused engineering.
• Experience building or improving automated data pipelines.
• Experience with cloud environments, ideally AWS.
• Familiarity with version control and collaborative development practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to understand end-user requirements.
• Exposure to databases or data lake technologies is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines that support research, analytics and trading workflows.
• Automate onboarding and processing of new datasets for efficiency and scalability.
• Contribute to the design and enhancement of data architecture and tooling.
• Monitor data feeds, diagnose issues and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements for data-driven decisions.
• Establish controls and validation processes to improve data quality and coverage.
