Job summary

Gravitas Recruitment Group (Global) Ltd is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a forward-thinking organisation investing in data and technology. The role focuses on an Azure-based data platform to support reporting, analytics, BI and emerging AI initiatives.

You'll work with analysts, architects, engineers and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure data solutions, including pipelines, governance and deployment in a hybrid, technology-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
  • Advanced SQL expertise and strong data governance knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure data technologies (ADF, Databricks, Synapse, Purview).
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices and automated testing.
  • Experience in large, complex organisations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Azure/Data Engineering certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
  • Build and optimise datasets for reporting, analytics and BI.
  • Develop integrations between enterprise systems and third-party platforms.
  • Drive data quality, governance and documentation.
  • Support deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement of data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues and implement enhancements.
  • Collaborate with analysts, architects, engineers and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to data platforms, data lakes and pipelines in enterprise settings.

The Opportunity

A forward-thinking organisation undergoing significant investment in its data and technology capabilities is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the evolution of a modern Azure-based data platform, supporting reporting, analytics, business intelligence, and emerging AI initiatives. You'll work closely with analysts, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
  • Build and optimise curated datasets for reporting, analytics and business insight.
  • Develop integrations between enterprise systems and third-party platforms.
  • Drive high standards of data quality, governance and documentation.
  • Support deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement of data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues and contribute to ongoing enhancements.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver impactful data projects.
  • Proven experience building and supporting enterprise data platforms, data lakes and data pipelines.
  • Advanced SQL expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure technologies such as: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Purview
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices and automated testing.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management and data quality principles.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Event-driven architecture and integration solutions.
  • AI, machine learning or advanced analytics projects.
  • Experience within large and complex organisations.
  • Microsoft Azure or Data Engineering certifications.
