Job summary

QRT is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain the Business Data & Analytics platform. You will translate questions into datasets, analyses and tools, collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibility includes designing data pipelines on AWS, implementing infrastructure as code, and contributing to LLM-powered projects. Strong Python/SQL skills and a 3+ year track record are expected.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or another technical field.
• At least three years' experience building and operating production data pipelines.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including IAM.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with clean, structured, tested code.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and agentic coding tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a consulting mindset.
• A proactive, organised approach with interest in BI, analysis and data science.
• Comfortable solving problems where requirements are not fully defined.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate data pipelines and datasets on AWS using services including S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Glue and Athena.
• Define infrastructure as code and deliver changes through CI/CD.
• Integrate internal and external data sources, validating data quality and reliability.
• Build reporting and BI views and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Use agentic coding tools in day-to-day development and design data and systems that AI agents can use safely.
• Contribute to LLM-powered projects, including document extraction and automated data quality.
• Share ownership of the team's systems, documenting design decisions, assumptions and limitations.
