Job summary

Cognizant is seeking Data Engineers to join its Intelligent Process Automation practice. You will gather requirements, design data-driven solutions, and work with delivery teams to implement them in live services.

Key tasks include writing SQL or Python/R for data analysis, building analytical models, and collaborating with data governance and quality teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance. Strong communication and leadership are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms: Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• Experience in IT architecture and software development lifecycles.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data.
• Proficient in Python or R and data visualization with Tableau.
• Experience with large datasets.
• Experience creating B/FRDs - good documentation and communication with the technology team.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data governance, data quality, data profiling, MDM, ETL.
• Data modelling from contextual through to logical and physical modelling.
• Strong Excel, SQL, Python, and JIRA skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder reporting skills.
• Experience with project planning and agile software (JIRA).

Responsibilities

• Gather business requirements and develop functional specifications across multiple functions.
• Architect, design, cost and plan data solutions for live services.
• Write SQL or Python/R scripts to analyse data.
• Develop subject matter expertise on key data elements.
• Collaborate between business users and technologists.
• Follow proper development lifecycle with artefacts for audits.
• Consult with users to solve complex system issues and recommend solutions.
• Support systems change processes from requirements through implementation.
• Identify risks and communicate impacts.
• Provide regular updates to senior management in technology and front office.
• Train relevant teams prior to go-live and provide go-live support.
• Ingest, cleanse and collate data from diverse sources.
