Job summary

PLS Solicitors is building an AI-focused data engineering function in Altrincham. You will own the data foundation behind AI, reporting and platform modernization, turning strategy into reliable pipelines and secure data platforms.

You will work with the IT Director, AI Developer and broader tech team to evolve the data warehouse and create new data foundations as the technology landscape shifts. The role offers hybrid working with in-office days.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL with complex queries and data modelling.
• Python for data pipelines and automation.
• Ownership of end-to-end production data pipelines.
• Experience with SQL Server/Azure SQL or similar.
• Owns data quality and security considerations.
• Able to work in ambiguous, loosely defined problems.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud data technologies beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver our data strategy through pipelines and platforms.
• Design least-privilege, read-only access patterns.
• Build and maintain datasets for AI and reporting.
• Replace legacy data warehouse with modern pipelines.
• Support data needs of new platform builds and integrations.
• Monitor data quality, lineage, and pseudonymisation.
• Maintain documentation for pipelines and datasets.
• Stay current with data engineering tooling.
