Data sits at the heart of the company. This role is to ensure that Awin is able to leverage the data it has access to across the group and build out reporting to facilitate better commercial decisions and provide top-tier campaign management to support client-facing departments.

As an AI/ML Data Engineer, your responsibilities include researching, building, designing, and automating predictive models along with metrics to track their progress. You should have proven communication and analytical skills. Being a strong team player, capable of working independently, and eager to improve our standards and practices are essential.

You need to understand data and business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Writing clean, high-quality, understandable, and maintainable code is crucial. You should be experienced in various data extraction, transformation, and storage methodologies, applying your knowledge to develop and enhance predictive models.

Within this role, you will break down requirements with clear instructions. As a member of the Data Services department, you will collaborate with a global team of data engineers and analysts, including other big data engineers within the organization.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Write clean, elegant, and maintainable code following Data Engineering and AI/ML best practices.
  • Understand business objectives and develop models to achieve them, along with metrics to monitor their effectiveness.
  • Innovate solutions for complex business problems using self-improving automated predictive models.
  • Evaluate existing models and suggest improvements for better results and efficiency.
  • Develop best practices for building and orchestrating predictive models.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and proper interpretation of results.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in data science, data engineering, business intelligence, business administration, or a related field focusing on math, statistics, or data engineering is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a data engineer working on AI/ML projects using Python, R, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of scrum practices and an agile mindset.
  • Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Keras, Flask), R.
  • Experience designing end-to-end ETL solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies to identify datasets for training.
  • Solid understanding of cloud services (Azure and AWS) and BI/Data Analysis tools.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies like Data Bricks, Spark, Scala, and JSON is preferred.
