Job summary

NOCN Group is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Digital Services team. You will design and maintain data pipelines, model data in ClickHouse, and apply AI tooling to accelerate data resource setup.

Hybrid role with weekly office work in Sheffield; collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver trusted analytics, ensure GDPR compliance, and mentor colleagues as we build our in-house data capability.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building and running data pipelines for production use.
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills for modern data platforms.
• Experience with data warehouses (ClickHouse or similar).
• Evidence of continuous professional development in data engineering.
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum, discovery-led environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines and integrations across systems.
• Model and structure data in ClickHouse for analysis and product development.
• Leverage AI tooling to accelerate data resource setup and exploratory analysis.
• Deliver analytics and data products quickly with real-world evidence.
• Collaborate with developers, UX and business teams from data need to delivery insight.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, security and GDPR compliance across systems.
• Help establish data standards and mentor colleagues in data capabilities.
• Support a broad product landscape including learner tools, finance and support.
