Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Remote (once a month, Derby)

Employment Type: 6-month Contract

About the Role:

I’m seeking to speak to a skilled Data Engineer to join a data team and play a critical role in maintaining, enhancing, and modernising our on-premises data infrastructure. This role will be primarily focused on SQL development, SSIS package management, and data warehouse design using the Kimball methodology.

You will work closely with other areas of the data function and stakeholders to improve data standards, correct legacy issues, and help ensure the reliability and scalability of our enterprise data solutions. Experience in Qlik Sense is considered a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimise SQL scripts and SSIS packages for ETL processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data quality and performance issues in legacy systems.
• Design and implement enhancements to the data warehouse architecture, following Kimball dimensional modelling principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in sprint planning and issue tracking using Jira.
• Help define and enforce data governance and data standardisation best practices.
• Core Technologies, SQL, SSIS, Qlik Sense (bonus), Kimball methodology
