Job summary

PD Ports Limited in the UK is hiring a data engineer to join the IT team at Lackenby House, Teesport. The role focuses on building and maintaining enterprise data pipelines and supporting the Data Warehouse platform.

You will work with the Business Insights Team, use SQL and Python, and apply Oracle data technologies and DevOps practices. Experience with Oracle AI Data Warehouse and Qlik Sense is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a Data Engineer, Data Warehouse Developer, Data Integration Developer, or similar role.
• Producing production‑grade data solutions within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, Oracle data technologies, and modern DevOps practices, with experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale data solutions.
• Ideally has experience with Oracle AI Data Warehouse and Qlik Sense.

Responsibilities

• Specify, develop, deploy and maintain enterprise data pipelines, canonical data models, and data architecture for the Data Warehouse.
• Integrate data from multiple line-of-business systems into a trusted enterprise data platform supporting reporting, analytics, BI, AI and strategic decisions.
• Ensure high-quality, governed data products are available to enable reporting and analytics across the organisation.
• Collaborate with the Business Insights Team to understand reporting and analytics requirements.

A vacancy has arisen for a detail orientated and collaborative full-time Data Engineer at PD Ports within the IT team.

Location: Lackenby House, Teesport
Working Arrangements: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

The main things our Data Engineer will be working on are:

• The specification, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise data pipelines, canonical data models, and data architecture capabilities and support of the Data Warehouse platform.
• Integration of data from multiple line-of-business systems into a trusted enterprise data platform that supports operational reporting, analytics, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, and strategic decision-making.
• Ensuring that high-quality, governed, and well-structured data products are made available to enable effective reporting and analytics across the organisation.
• Working closely with the Business Insights Team to understand reporting and analytics requirements.

We are seeking someone who has:

• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a Data Engineer, Data Warehouse Developer, Data Integration Developer, or similar role.
• Demonstrable experience delivering production-grade data solutions within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, Oracle data technologies, and modern DevOps practices, together with experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale data solutions.
• Ideally has experience with Oracle AI Data Warehouse and Qlik Sense.
