Zusammenfassung

Skipton is expanding its Engineering team to move to a cloud-native data platform. You’ll design, develop and maintain secure Azure data solutions and end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines to deliver trusted information for better decisions.

You’ll work with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage and dbt, collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts and stakeholders, and contribute to Agile delivery while mentoring colleagues in a collaborative, hybrid environment in Skipton.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience delivering end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Storage and Key Vault.
• Experience with SQL, Python/PySpark and dbt for data transformation.
• Experience with data modelling and enterprise data warehouses.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD in a team environment.
• Agile, collaborative approach with mentoring mindset.

As we continue our move from traditional on-premises infrastructure to a cloud-native data platform, you’ll have the opportunity to work with modern Microsoft Azure technologies, including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory and dbt. What You’ll Do

We’re transforming the way data is used across Skipton, building a cloud-native Data Platform that provides trusted information and supports better decisions. Working collaboratively with Data Engineers, Analysts and colleagues across the Society, you’ll help design, develop and continuously improve scalable data solutions.

• Design and develop secure, scalable Azure data solutions using technologies including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Key Vault and dbt.

• Build and implement end-to-end ETL and ELT pipelines that transform data into trusted, accessible information.

• Develop and optimise data models using established approaches such as star schema, snowflake and data vault.

• Maintain and improve our Enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring performance, reliability and data quality.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver valuable solutions.

• Contribute to Agile delivery through incremental enhancements, testing, code reviews, release management and CI/CD practices.

• Identify process improvements, share new ideas and mentor colleagues to strengthen capability across the team.

We work in a hybrid way, balancing flexibility with collaboration. For this role, you'll typically spend three days a week in our Skipton office, with the remaining two days working from home.

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience developing Azure data solutions and delivering end-to-end ETL or ELT pipelines.

• Strong working knowledge of Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage and Key Vault.

• Experience using SQL, Spark SQL, Python or PySpark, and dbt to transform and model data.

• Knowledge of data modelling principles and common patterns, including star schema, snowflake or data vault.

• Experience maintaining and optimising an Enterprise Data Warehouse, alongside a good understanding of data analysis.

• Experience of the full software development lifecycle, including testing, release management, source control such as Git and CI/CD tools.

• An Agile, curious and pragmatic approach, with strong requirements analysis skills and a willingness to support and mentor colleagues.
