A leading omni-channel retailer in the UK is seeking a Data Engineer to enhance their Data Engineering function. The role involves mentoring junior members, driving technical excellence, and collaborating within a growing data team to establish best practices and standards. This position requires over 5 years of experience and expertise in various data technologies, with a focus on delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
The Opportunity
We're hiring for a Data Engineer to join our Data team. As a Data Engineer, you will support the growth of the Data Engineering function; mentor junior members of the team, and help build effective practices that drive a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
You will be part of a growing team, developing the data engineering community of practice, and defining data standards across the organisation.
The Team
The data team is an enabling team and a key function for all other teams across the business. It consists of two teams - Business Intelligence Developers and Data Engineering - working closely together from end to end. We design solutions collaboratively and share best practices. We recognize individual skillsets within the teams and encourage knowledge sharing sessions and self-development.
About You
We are looking for a driven individual with a keen eye for detail who strives to produce accurate information through visually appealing reporting. You should be comfortable liaising with technical teams to understand how business processes are reflected in the data and be able to communicate this effectively to senior stakeholders at the executive level.
