About The Role

Pearson is hiring a Digital Workplace Data Engineer to join their colleague workplace services team (DWS).

We are looking for a data developer focused on creating and maintaining Power BI dashboards and Azure Data Factory orchestration. We aim to improve colleague IT services and security through data-driven insights.

The successful candidate will have high proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI and related technologies, along with data analytics skills to design, lead implementation, and drive our digital workplace transformation.

You will collaborate with a global team to enhance colleague IT solutions, keeping the user experience central.

Your responsibilities include designing PowerBI dashboards for projects, service improvements, and security, integrating data from various sources to analyze baselines and track improvements.

You will engage with IT stakeholders to understand their data needs, engineer dashboards, and provide technical guidance within the colleague technology community.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Understand stakeholder data and dashboard requirements.
• Develop, iterate, and maintain dashboards using PowerBI, Azure Data Factory, and DevOps.
• Connect to and integrate data from multiple sources using Azure Data Factory.
• Use data insights to inform engineering designs and project baselines.
• Guide project roadmaps and manage Azure resource costs.
• Collaborate on planning Pearson’s digital workplace future.
• Manage project deliverables, ensuring quality, security, budget, and timeline goals.
• Innovate and standardize processes, governance, and security practices.
• Identify IT landscape improvements and lead their implementation.
• Enhance automated deployment processes to improve security and efficiency.
• Engage in continuous learning through training opportunities.
• Travel may be required occasionally, domestically or internationally.

Skills and Abilities

• Expertise in PowerBI and Azure Data Factory.
• Strong skills in MS SQL, Graph, Fabric, KQL, Azure OpenAI, Automation accounts, and Integration Runtimes.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps.
• Experience analyzing data from Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and Endpoint security solutions (E5).
• Experience with colleague solutions like JAMF, ServiceNow, and HR systems.
• Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and modern authentication methods.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell or Python.
• Jira and Confluence experience is desirable.
