We are seeking a Data Engineer working with our Data Engineering Team to provide development capability for analytics assets across Azure Synapse Analytics (Azure SQL Data Warehouse), SQL Server and Oracle OCI.
You will also work closely with other data engineers within the team to support and develop existing solutions utilise by the Data Analysts, Data Product Owners, Data Scientist and various business functions to support PRS's ambitious growth plans and 160K members.
Data Engineering development collaborate with all CIO Teams and business functions to ensure our core systems and applications work as expected.
The team cover all parts of the software development life-cycle performing analysis, design, development and testing for our projects and programmes as well as providing third line support and delivering Business As Usual (BAU) enhancements.
The core systems looked after by the team support the processing of the usage of our members rights from many platforms where music is used, including from our joint ventures, through to our member distributions. The financial aspects behind the processing, including forecasting future financial activity, are also supported. All of which is the heartbeat of PRS.
We employ a wide range of skills within the team, manage several technologies centred on Oracle and Microsoft bespoke and commercial applications. The ethos of the team is to support, innovate and collaborate, enabling us to deliver the best service to our customers.
Responsibilities
As our Data Engineer, some of your day-to-day duties will include
- Develop, build and test cloud hosted ETL/ELT data pipelines from a variety of data sources to make data accurate and easy to use.
- Monitor and support legacy applications and help to progressively migrate them to a more modern stack on cloud infrastructure.
- Proactively collaborate with Data Engineers to enhance technical skill sets particularly with an initial focus on Microsoft technologies extending out towards Oracle.
- Assist with the establishment of a modern data culture across the organisation
- Build and support delivery of data visualisation products.
- Implement and manage development tasks using Jira

- Experience in Data Analytics and Data Science.

- Oracle Database and PL/SQL Packages.
DESIRABLE- Beneficial: experience with Cloud Platforms for building and migrating data engineering workloads (Azure, OCI, AWS, GCP)
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Hands on experience of Jira
- Knowledge and/or experience of machine learning/AI
- Excellent Excel skills.

- First stage interview will take place virtually on MS Teams.
- Second stage interview will take place in person at our London Bridge Hub.
