Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, data architecture, and data integration. This role involves building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity, and supporting data analytics initiatives. You will work closely with internal customers, product owners, core team members, and other stakeholders to ensure that quality data is available, reliable, and easily accessible in a cost-effective, efficient, and scalable way.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of data from various sources.
  2. Integrate data from multiple sources, including APIs, databases, and external datasets, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
  3. Develop and maintain data models and schemas that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analytics.
  4. Manage and optimize databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
  5. Implement and monitor data quality checks to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data. Troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in their resolution.
  6. Configure data extraction and load jobs, automate repetitive tasks, and improve pipeline performance through optimization techniques.
  7. Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, models, and processes.
  8. Develop understanding of business processes and digital product delivery quality standards.
  9. Follow Agile and SDLC processes, including creating data-related user stories, performing code reviews, and testing.
  10. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and vendors, create SOWs and work packets as needed.
Education:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience (>6 years) as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Experience with data pipeline, ETL, and workflow management tools (e.g., Databricks, Data Factory).
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or Scala.
  • Knowledge of Python libraries such as PySpark and Pandas.
  • Experience with SQL and database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with data architecture, modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design and BI tools like Power BI or Qlik.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, DevOps tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps), and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence).
Preferred:
  • GxP and Non-GxP SDLC experience.
  • Data governance and security best practices.
  • MS Power Platform / Power Apps.
  • Cloud DevOps (e.g., Terraform).
  • Certifications in cloud data technologies (e.g., Azure Data Fundamentals).
  • Basic data science knowledge.
Other:
  • English language proficiency required.
  • May require 10-20% travel based on project locations.
