Job summary

Brio Digital is seeking a Data Engineer to join a HealthTech transformation project. The role supports NHS data platforms with AWS, Databricks, Python and SQL expertise. Location involves 1-2 days on-site in Leeds with UK-wide remote work considered as part of the hybrid setup.

You will design data pipelines, optimise data ingestion from MongoDB and implement governance and testing within CI/CD workflows. Healthcare data familiarity is a bonus; healthcare standards knowledge is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience designing end-to-end data pipelines in cloud ecosystems.
• Hands-on Python for ETL and data engineering.
• Advanced SQL for data modelling and performance tuning.
• Experience with AWS data services and Databricks.

Data Engineer – HealthTech – UK Remote (AWS / Databricks / Python / SQL)

Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: 1-2x/week on-site in Leeds
Duration: Until March 2026
Day Rate: £500/day Inside IR35

Brio Digital are supporting a HealthTech consultancy who require a Data Engineer to support an ongoing transformation project across NHS data platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Design and maintain end-to-end data pipelines within the AWS ecosystem
• Build reliable data solutions using Databricks, Python, and SQL
• Integrate and optimise data from diverse sources, including MongoDB
• Develop and maintain ETL processes for analytical and operational use
• Implement data quality, governance, and testing frameworks
• Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and delivery teams to ensure accessible, trusted data
• Contribute to the evolution of scalable, cloud-native data architectures

What You’ll Bring

• Strong hands-on experience with Python for ETL and data engineering
• Advanced SQL skills across data modelling, optimisation, and stored procedures
• Experience with AWS Data Services (e.g., Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, Databricks)
• Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Understanding of modern data architecture and data governance principles
• Experience with CI/CD, version control, and agile project delivery
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration skills

Nice-to-Have

• Exposure to NHS or healthcare data sources
• Knowledge of FHIR or other healthcare data standards
• Experience tuning Spark workloads in Databricks
