Job summary

Quantum is seeking a Data Engineer in London to build and run the pipelines behind QiCore, our data warehouse. You will unify data from acquired businesses and ensure data is reliable, governed and scalable.

You will implement batch and streaming pipelines, migrate data, and collaborate across teams to maintain reporting, data quality, and governance as the platform evolves.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on data engineering, writing production SQL and Python.
• Experience building ETL or ELT pipelines on a modern cloud data warehouse or big data platform.
• Knowledge of data governance, testing and data quality practices.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools and version control systems.
• Strong teamwork and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, test and maintain batch and streaming pipelines into QiCore to established engineering standards.
• Migrate Rewards data into the warehouse and single customer view, keeping reporting available.
• Model data for analytics and reporting following architecture and governance principles.
• Monitor pipeline health and data quality, addressing root causes rather than symptoms.
• Support future acquisitions and platform migrations, enabling faster, repeatable processes.

The Role

Our Data Engineering team is growing! We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our team in London.

In this role you will build and run the pipelines behind QiCore, our new data warehouse. You’ll bring acquired businesses like Rewards into one platform and make sure the data the business runs on is reliable, governed and built to last.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, test and maintain batch and streaming pipelines into QiCore to agreed engineering standards
• Migrate Rewards data into our warehouse and single customer view, keeping reporting running throughout
• Model data for analytics and reporting, working to the architecture and governance principles the team sets
• Monitor pipeline health and data quality, fixing issues at the root rather than patching symptoms
• Support future acquisitions and platform migrations, turning each one into a faster, repeatable process

About You

• Several years of hands-on data engineering, writing production SQL and Python
• Experience building ETL or ELT pipelines on a modern cloud warehouse or big data platform
• Working knowledge of data governance, testing and data quality practices
• Comfortable with orchestration and version control, and with reviewing and being reviewed
• High standards for quality, with a can-do attitude when priorities shift
• You thrive when working as part of a team
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Have excellent written and verbal English skills
• Last but not least, you’ll have no ego!
