The Role

Bottomline is looking for a Data Engineer to grow with us either remotely or in a Hybrid work environment out of our Theale, UK office!

As a Data Engineer, you will work collaboratively with both business and technical users to define, develop, and test data pipelines, data warehouse schemas, tables, views, and external tables. You will ideally leverage tools such as Talend, AWS S3, Python, Java, PowerBI, and Snowflake to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility.

How you'll contribute:

  1. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze data requirements for reporting and analytics.
  2. Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Talend to ensure efficient data flow from various sources.
  3. Create and manage data warehouse schemas, tables, views, and external tables in Snowflake.
  4. Utilize AWS S3 for data storage solutions and ensure data integrity and security.
  5. Write and optimize Java and/or Python scripts for data transformation and processing tasks.
  6. Conduct thorough testing and validation of data pipelines and warehouse structures to ensure accuracy and performance.
  7. Monitor data pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  8. Document data processes and maintain clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What will make you successful:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 4+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or a similar role.
  3. Proficiency in Talend, AWS S3, Python, and Snowflake.
  4. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, schema design, and ETL processes.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to various audiences.
  7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
